ABOUT ME

Berkay

I spent two years living in Melbourne, a city that shaped the way I travel and experience places. During this time, Melbourne was not just a destination but a daily life studying, working on my English, building friendships, and learning how the city moves. From its parks, rivers, and beaches to its culture, markets, and neighborhoods, Melbourne taught me to slow down and pay attention to everyday details. It was the place where travel became more than visiting landmarks and turned into understanding how people live. I also took a short trip to Sydney, experiencing a different side of Australia with its iconic harbor, the Opera House, and a more crowded, energetic atmosphere compared to Melbourne.

After Australia, I traveled to Bali, where the pace of life changed completely. Bali was about calm, nature, and culture temples, daily rituals, local streets, and quiet moments mixed with vibrant landscapes. It was a place to slow down, reflect, and experience a different rhythm of life. From there, I continued to Phuket for a short tropical escape, exploring temples, islands, and coastal areas, gaining a brief but memorable impression of Thailand.

Later, my journey took me to Japan, a country where tradition and modern life coexist in a unique balance. I explored cities such as Kobe, Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara, each offering a different perspective. From the calm of temples and natural spaces to busy streets, food culture, and everyday life, Japan stood out for its order, respect, and attention to detail. The contrast between silence and movement, simplicity and complexity, made every moment feel intentional.

This blog is a personal record of these journeys places I lived in, short trips I took, and destinations that left an impression on me. It focuses on everyday life, local culture, food, nature, and small details that often go unnoticed. Rather than offering guides or recommendations, it’s a collection of experiences and moments that together form a story shaped by movement, curiosity, and time.
